And the cow steal the show….

Last Jan 8th, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya attended the completion announcement for his upcoming movie, “Joker Game“, at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The spy-action thriller also stars Fukada Kyoko, Iseya Yusuke, and is directed by Irie Yu.

Based from a bestselling novel of the same title written by Koji Yanagi, “Joker Game” tells the story of a fictional spy organization where Kato Jiro (Kamenashi) gets recruited by a top-secret military organization- D Kikan-. The said organization is headed by a mysterious man named Yuki (Iseya), who will established the ultimate brain game revolving around the secret document called “black notebook” Likewise,  Fukada will play the mysterious mistress of United States Ambassador Graham who has a “black notebook”.

Kamenashi did his own action scenes, “it’s not a type of work that uses CGs so I managed on my own. I want my body to adapt to gestures and movements,” Kamenashi commented. He also talked about his preparedness and confidence to do each scene, like if director Irie tells him stand and take off his clothes, he would do so. Fukada also challenged her own action scene where she had to aim a knife at Kamenashi’s face. The director told her to aim directly since Kamenashi will surely be able to dodge it. Kamenashi and his co-stars spent 5 weeks filming in Indonesia where they have fond memories.

1600 fans in the hall screamed when the love scene between Kamenashi and Fukada was mentioned. The said love scene took two days to film and when they were fitted in a sack cloth,  a cow next to the straw got unreasonably excited. Kamenashi joked that the cow messed-up his excitement from doing the love scene because waiting for the cow to be calm is like waiting for a baby to be born.

Joker Game” will hit the theaters on Jan 31st.

The days are getting colder and as much as I love this kind of weather, I need to watch-out for flu. Anyway, here are some snippets news and not-so-news that I’m too lazy to translate collated from Jan 13th to 17th. Involved parties, are: Okura Tadayoshi, Yokoyama Yu, Subaru Shibutani, NEWS, Ohno Satoshi, and Kamenashi Kazuya

(c) きどまほ @nmchanchan

  • Now, you don’t have to look that surprise. Congratulations to Okura Tadayoshi and Yokoyama Yu for passing and getting their High School Certificate. The two are extremely happy to pass and I’m sure that their tutors are happy and relieved as well.

(c)navybluetears

  • Fellow Kanjani8 Subaru Shibutani will be in Rotterdam next week to attend Rotterdam International Film Festival (RIFF) where his debut movie, “Misono Universe” (La La La at Rock Bottom) will be shown. At iffr‘s website, Subaru is described as, “…part of the popular band Kanjani Eight, a kind of boy band, but then with members who really can sing and make music.” Glad to know that the Dutch thinks that  Subaru and Kanjani8 can sing!
  • Arashi‘s Ohno Satoshi mentioned in his radio show, 「ARASHI DISCOVERY」, that he’s thinking of taking English lessons. He wished that he studied English during his “coming of age” ceremony so he would be fluent by now. Hopefully, he’ll be fluent with English by the time he’s 40 aka “new adult”.

  • After being colorful in “KAGUYA”, NEWS decides to go mellow with their upcoming album and tour that will be called, “White”. The album will be out on Feb 25th while 「NEWS LIVE TOUR 2015 White」will start on Mar 21st at Nagoya. More details of their album and tour, HERE.

  • The poster for Kamenashi Kazuya‘s late night melodrama, “Second Love,  is out and I’m on the verge of suffering a heart attack if not, anemia from blood loss due to nosebleed. XD. I hope that the poster is not just teasing the fans but we can expect some real “adult dangerous love”.

That’s all for now, since grumpy cat is so popular, I’m leaving you with a grump Sho.

Rants & Raves : Crutch and Crotch

$

If this week’s Rants & Raves title didn’t grab your attention then, it’s not my problem. haha. Seriously, I’m just practicing if I still know my rhymes.

Here is my occasional Rants and Raves : Crutch and Crotch

  • The reason for the postponement  engagement announcement between Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao is because of Mao’s religion, which is Soka Gakkai. Member marrying non-member’s may post as a problem. However, if the organization managed to snag someone as popular as Matsujun, then, there will surely be an increase of members.

Soka Gakkai is a Buddhist sect but it’s mainly regarded as a cult. When you say cult, the impression is almost always negative. Anyway, I think that the tabloids are just making a big deal that Mao is a Soka because they didn’t manage to get an engagement announcement so now, they are looking for other things just to keep Maotsujun relevant.

(c)can’t recall where I grab this, twitter probably.

  • Abe Aran’s shop photos for Playzone while in crutches.

That’s so nice of JE to still sell Aran’s photo even though he’s in crutches. Well, not really. It’s just goes to show how greedy JE is when it comes to profit. haha. They did the same thing when Fumi was in wheelchair.

  • Nakajima Yuto for AOKI along with Johnny’s Jrs.  Tajima Shogo and Takahashi Fu

Yuto is perfect for it. I mean, he got the height to look good in suits and whatever he wears. Hopefully, he’ll be posing with Kame for his next ad for AOKI. I think, Yuto needs to buff-up a bit and he can replace Justin Bieber in his Calvin Klein ads. haha. Too much delusion, move along.

  • Comment on “Orient Kyuukou Satsujin Jiken”

The drama SP is really good, hands down, and I were reading the novel, it’d surely be a page-turner. Well, the drama is an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel so the plot is already solid, but it was also perfectly executed. Nino acted fine as the secretary and I had pinned him as the culprit from the start of the story. haha. It turns out that…well, you have to watch it.

  • Is it similar? Johnny’s WEST’s jacket cover for “Zundoku Paradise” vs. Anjurumu (aka ANGERME formerly known as S/Mileage)

When I first saw this posted side-by-side in twitter, I really thought that they were cross-dressing. haha. So I have to look closer and aside from pastel-colored backgrounds and outfits ranging from blue, white, black, and checkered; it’s not really similar. XD

(c)seelenlicht

  • Did Kamenashi Kazuya touches himself in Hanasanaide Ai PV?

Well, what do you think? As far as I know, the PV is full of ero Kame that will surely give you orgasm. Aside from that, Junno in Kame’s solo PV just made the hotness of this PV reach the boiling point especially with Junno looking like he stepped-out for Joker Game’s poster looking all sleek and handsome.

(c)seelenlicht

That’s all my rant and rave for now, I will be busy this weekend so I’m not sure if I can blog that much.

So, can I be Terence Lee and touch Kame?haha

Last Jan 20th, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya attended a PR event for his upcoming movie, “Joker Game“. In the event, military affair’s critic Terence Lee, and psychologist Yoko Haruka , checks on Kamenashi’s suitability as a spy. As a spy, it means that he must have a clear mind and superb motor reflexes.

Terence Lee feels the muscles on Kamenashi’s body by touching him; he asserts that Kame’s lower muscles, particularly his thigh and back, are quite developed. When shirtless pictures of Kame was shown for body check, Kame asked makes a joke about his tiny nipples.  As for Kame’s psychological well-being, Hare says that Kame is a carnivorous type of male and he could be susceptible with “honey trap”.

In conclusion, Kame got a 93% remark for his suitability as a spy. The 7% that he did not get is because Kame is evaluated weak when it comes to women, and he’s a little “H” spy. (H=Hentai?)

“Joker Game” tells the story of a fictional spy organization where Kato Jiro (Kamenashi) gets recruited by a top-secret military organization- D Kikan-.

If KAT-TUN were a spy…I’ll defnitely defect to their organization. XD

4-nin KAT-TUN were illustrated by manga artist, Shimotsuki Kayoko, the artist behind “Joker Game“. “Joker Game” is currently serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits and the author decides to make a special illustration for KAT-TUN with the title, “If I were a spy of ‘D’ institution’ “. ‘D ‘institution is a fictional spy organization established in secret by the Japanese army where Kato Jiro (Kamenashi Kazuya) belongs in the movie version of “Joker Game”.

In Shimotsuki’s illustration, the members were depicted in different setting, Kamenashi as a safecracker, Nakamaru Yuichi as a transvestite, Junnosuke Taguchi in a party, and Ueda Tatsuya in prison.

The same illustrations will be published along with an interview of KAT-TUN  for the comics’ released on Jan 27th.

Not gonna argue with the title though I always consider Yamapi as the sex symbol. XD

Last Feb 2nd, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya attended the production announcement for his TV Asahi’s late drama, “Second Love“. During the press conference, Kamenashi was called a “Johnny’s Sex Symbol”.

In the drama, Kamenashi plays a contemporary dancer who fell in love with an older woman, a high school teacher played by Fukada Kyoko. Oishi Shizuka is in charge of the screenplay in this scandalous soap opera called “night melo”. As for Oishi’s impression on Kamenashi, he said that Kame is erotic.

“There’s a day when you don’t wear clothes during filming,” Kamenashi commented. In addition to dances, Kamenashi also has to prepare his body for going beautifully nude. As for the script, Kamenashi says that he freezes each time the script arrives, the shock is his stimulant. “I want to shake-off the limiter and just flow into the work,” he commented about reaching a new ground and added, “I want to work hard to get used being Johnny’s sex symbol”.

Lastly, KAT-TUN will sing Second Love’s theme song with “KISS KISS KISS“.

Second Love” will air this Feb 6th at 11:15 PM (JST) on TV Asahi.

Kamenashi Kazuya Disguises as a Security Guard during Joker Game’s Stage Greeting

What can I say, Kame loves to role-play.

KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya attended the stage greeting and thanksgiving event for making “Joker Game” a big hit. Movie’s director, Irie Yu, is also present.

The said stage greeting was held at Cinema Lights Matsumoto at Nagano and true to Kamenashi’s “spy” character in the movie, he infiltrated the audience wearing a disguise as a security guard with fake mustache and glasses. Kamenashi went unnoticed as he stood as a security guard for 10 minutes until the event started; surprised cheers erupted when it was revealed. Kamenashi also said that he wants to watch the movie the movie with the audience and it makes him a little nervous since the last time he watched a movie with an audience was during a film festival. (I guess he’s talking about Udine).

Joker Game” is still in theaters.

Rumor Round-Up (Digest 018)

$
0
0

Before I concentrate on making recaps tomorrow, here are some rumors that will either amuse or irk you.

Involved parties, are: Ninomiya Kazunari, Yamada Ryosuke, Yamashita Tomohisa, Kamenashi Kazuya, Imai Tsubasa, Tomoya Nagase, Domoto Koichi, Ohno Satoshi, and Machida Shingo.

  • Ninomiya Kazunari is the voice behind Koro-sensei of “Assassination Classroom” movie?

As reported earlier, Hey!Say!JUMP‘s Yamada Ryosuke will star in live adaptation of “Assassination Classroom“. Yamada will play the role of Nagisa, one of the student of Koro-sensei, an alien who is out to destroy the world and it will be up to Nagisa and co. to kill him. Well, rumor has it that the voice behind the CG-made Koro-sensei is none other than Arashi‘s Ninomiya Kazunari. Not only that, the movie’s theme song will be sung by a special unit called “Sensations”, a 9-member group produced by Koro-sensei, who is rumored to be Nino. Why Nino? Well, it’s all part of JE’s “barter system” where if you signed one JE talent for something, someone should go with him as well. Anyway, fans are eagerly waiting for the movie’s stage greeting where the voice behind Koro-sensei is likely to be revealed.

Some fans can really be delusional. haha. Or maybe it’s true after all. Well, I watched the trailer again and even though there might be similarities, if the production was able to make Koro-sensei out of CGs then it’s highly likely that they can also manipulate the seiyuu’s voice to make it sound like Nino’s, not that they did it on purpose. Also, I’m familiar with JE’s barter system, let’s take any SMAP member’s drama for example where someone from Kisumai is likely to be there. However, Yamada is already an established idol, not as big as Nino, but why would Nino be the bartered when he can definitely be the main lead?

  • Yamapi’s acting ability criticized for “Flowers of Algernon”

The modern version of the classic novel is yet to air and there are already criticisms with this Yamashita Tomohisa‘s starrer. One thing people criticized is Yamapi’s acting ability for his role as mentally-retarded turned genius. Even though Yamapi has hit dramas under his belt (SUMMER NUDE highest rating is 17.4% and Code Blue highest rating is 21.2%), his acting ability must be evaluated since most people comment that “he has no expression” and that “he has no intonation in his dialogue”. Furthermore, Yamapi is described for only having good looks and was called the guy version of Horikita Maki.

This rumor is expected since Yamapi has an upcoming drama and that there were negative reactions when he was chosen for the role. As for the Maki comment, Horikita can act, you just have to watch her projects where she’s different from her usual roles. Try Ume-chan sensei among others instead of her usual idol-like dramas.

  •  Surprising best friends in Johnny’s

Bet you didn’t know that they were friends, I’m surprised myself since I didn’t really watched them as juniors. Anyway, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya and Tackey&Tsubasa’s Imai Tsubasa are friends way back their Junior years and both are Hanshin Tiger’s fan. Next are TOKIO‘s Nagase Tomoya and KinKi Kids Domoto Koichi are friends way back junior high years. The two go on trip in between work eveb after they became famous and when Koichi moved-in to a new condominium unit, his first visitor is Nagase. Last is Arashi‘s Ohno Satoshi and MA‘s (Musical Academy) Machida Shingo known for their “Omachi Combi” way back their Junior years. The two got closer during  “Johnnys Fantasy Kyo to Kyo” where they stayed at the same inn while in Kyoto, they also enrolled at the same high school and dropped-out together, until Ohno debuted in Arashi. Although, there are no news whether they still get together, Machida gave a celebratory message to Ohno for Arashi’s 15th anniversary.

Since I’m too lazy to translate some of these stuff, here is a rundown of what’s happening in Johnny’s land collated from Feb 13th-15th. Involved parties, are: Nakayama Yuma, Arashi, Kamenashi Kazuya, and SMAP.

tumblr_njr85ysfke1rjuso1o1_500

  • NYC is a such a thing of the past and Yuma is getting by with his solo career. In fact, Nakayama Yuma will go on a solo tour titled “Nakayama Yuma First Solo Concert 2015“. There will be a total of 6 performances from 3 venues and more details can be found on Johnny’s Web.
  • In never ending rankings and because it’s V-day weekend, Oricon surveyed 500 women ranging from teens to 50’s on who among today’s actors they want as a lover. Arashi’s Aiba Masaki places 3rd among Johnny’s included in the poll. Other Johnny’s included, are: Matsumoto Jun (6th), Ohno Satoshi (7th), Sakurai Sho (8th), Ninomiya Kazunari (9th), and Kamenashi Kazuya (10th). I guess that Kame’s love scene from “Second Love” did wonders to voters imagination.
  • Those papa-pics of Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi in Las Vegas and Matsumoto Jun aren’t some look-a-like. XD. Their journey together will be featured in “Arashi ni Shiyagare” as they drive around Los Angeles to eat hotdogs, ride helicopter for Grand Canyon’s sunset tour, and Ohno gets his try in fishing at Lake Mead.

(c)NASASMAP

  • SMAP‘s “SMAPxSMAP” featured NASA‘s satellite, which is coincidentally called SMAP. Well, NASA’s SMAP doesn’t stand for “Sports Music Assembly People” but for “Soil Moisture Active Passive“. Still, it’s cool to have a satellite with the same name as yours.

That’s all for now, I’m leaving you with this creepy yet hilarious Kanjani8 gif.

First Impressions on Second Love

$
0
0

“Second Love’s” main objective is to add sizzle to your Friday night that you won’t be able to sleep at all. Well, they did just that and too much shots of topless Kame is enough to leave you breathless and bloodless from those nosebleeds. Anyway, the first episode got 8.2%, a good number for a late-night drama. However, there are still speculations whether this drama is just love scenes and no substance or story.

Here is a quick recap of Second Love : Episode 1

It was love at first sight for Taira Kei (Kamenashi Kazuya) when he sees Nishigawa Yui (Fukada Kyoko) looking at the sunset, stretching her arms after a stressful work, and eating a candy. He looks at her as if he’s captivated by a spell even though both of them are under tough times.

Kei is between odd jobs and currently works as a laborer in the port area, he refuse to mingle with anyone, he doesn’t even talk when spoken to, and there are rumors that a good-looking guy like him must be having some “special circumstances” that he refuses to talk to anyone (special circumstance like he’s a murderer or theft and went into hiding). Furthermore, he keeps looking on his phone, waiting for a “good news” that’ll probably put some shine on his somber face.

Kei has always been told how talented he is, but his talent lost him his position in a German dance company and it makes him think if doesn’t have a talent at all.

Then, there’s Yui, a Chemistry teacher in one of the most prestigious all-girls high school in the region, Sanou High, where her students would rather self-study for their cram school than listen to her. Everyone thinks that she’s just some old woman who have nowhere to go. Even though she’s a teacher and it’s a stable job, there’s no chance for her to move-up to the career ladder. Yui also knows it and she envies her 17 year-old students on how they can be so confident and arrogant just because they are young.

Kei happen to passed-by Sanou High and sees Yui and despite all his hardships, seeing Yui stretching her hand out to the sun makes Kei aware of her.

The next day, Yui eats her breakfast as her mother do her morning routine. They both watch a TV show that features a man who openly admits that he had an affair and her mom starts to itch. It’s a psychosomatic thing, her mother’s marriage ended because of an affair and everytime she hears about something an affair, she starts itching.

At school, Yui gets ignored by most of her students, she thinks that they pity her for being old and unmarried. Girls putting down girls, shame. One particular student catches her eye and that’s Takeuchi Sora (Koshiba Fuka). Yui talks about it with a co-teacher, Takayanagi Taro (Namase Katsuhisa), on how Sora is obedient but her physical condition seems to be bad. Takayanagi-sensei says that he doesn’t know what to do with someone like Sora and when the two arrives at the faculty room, Takayanagi-sensei sends Yui a suggestive sticker with a text to meet him at the usual place. Okay everyone: EEW. He sent that sticker while he openly talks about how easygoing his wife is. Jerk.

Anyway, Yui goes to her class to find her rude students laughing at her more than a decade old magazine spread when she used to model. To add salt to her wound, or pride, they compare her to a certain Miyopan, a woman who used to model during her time and she’s now a TV announcer while Yui aka Yuitan ends-up being a mere teacher. Seeing the old magazine spread made Yui remembered about her loss and she banish her past thoughts by starting the class.

However, the class was interrupted after they saw a guy standing at the gate. It’s Kei! For some reason, Kei decides to stand there like he was praying as he waits for that call or email about the last audition he did for the season.

Meanwhile, the faculty is in chaos over Kei’s appearance at the school’s gate. They think that he might be a stalker of one of the students and they are wondering whether they should call the police. Seriously, the way they panicked is so over the top. Coincidentally, it was Takayanagi-sensei who went to face Kei and when he asked if he has any business with any of the school’s students, Kei simply said no and left with his bicycle.

Later on, Takayanagi-sensei and Yui are in some motel, having a videoke, and they casually went to eat ramen afterward. Even though they are in one table, they eat as if they’ve never met and they just happen to share a table. Takayanagi-sensei eats some gyoza and subtlety passes it near Yui so she can eat the remaining yoga. The strange tenderness and kindness that he has shown to Yui somehow makes her contented that she doesn’t need marriage. Duh, it’s not kindness, it’s guilt for making you her mistress.

Elsewhere, Kei is doing one of his odd jobs and probably one of the most famous part-time jobs in Japan, distributing tissues. However, since Kei is with his gloomy self, most pedestrians just ignore him and Kei isn’t doing an effort to look friendly. His friend, Noguchi Ayako (Hayami Akari), arrives and helps him with his job. Unlike Kei, she successfully gets passers-by attention by being her sweet self.

The two goes to eat ramen afterward and Ayako sees that Kei keeps on checking his phone. She asks if he got any results from Berlin, Kei didn’t reply and proceeds to eat but his dejected aura is fairly obvious. Anyway, Ayako wish that he passed the Berlin audition and at the back of Kei’s mind, he wants to pass it too, but he doesn’t have the confidence that he can, he wonders, when did he lose his confidence?

At Kei’s apartment, he lies down at his living room while he stares at nothingness and listens to the leaking faucet at the background. Feeling more dejected than ever, he feels like that he had to change something in his life so he grabs a piece of paper and writes something.

Dismissal time at Sanou and the students open their umbrellas as they go out of the school building. Amidst the pastel colored umbrellas, Yui opens her own transparent umbrella when Kei arrives and the students gave way to the man who was standing at their school gate the other day. Yui stood there, transfixed with Kei’s determined face, as he makes his way toward Yui. He places something on her palm and slightly press it. Without any words, just stares and silent pleading, Yui places the paper on her lab coat, and Kei smiles lightly at her gesture. He makes his way out, ignoring Yui’s co-teachers who were acting as a human shield around their precious students as if Kei might want to stab one of them.

At faculty room, everyone was still in shock about Kei’s appearance but no one is more silently seething than Takayanagi-sensei. He asks if he gave something and before Yui can deny, she automatically covers her lab coat pocket, too late to deny anything, she reaches inside her pocket and when she puts out her hand, it reveals a red-colored candy. Quick thinking Yui. Afterward, Yui goes to an empty science lab room, opens the paper that Kei gave her ealier, and sees Kei’s name and phone number.

At home, Yui searches about “Taira Kei” where she was directed to a Wikipedia-like page for him. She wonders what is a contemporary dancer, she reads on about Kei’s accomplishments that includes winning numerous awards and being part of Germany’s Fortner company. Yui wonders if he mistakes her for someone else.

Speaking of Kei, he goes to a dance studio to practice his moves  and starts off by stretches. At the same time, Yui contemplates whether to call Kei or not. Well, she decided not to call him and since then, Kei have never appeared in their school gate ever again.

Back at the dance studio, Kei looks on at the girls who are practicing ballet and he recalls his past when he met Ayako. Both of them started ballet at such a young age and Ayako asks him why he’s training for ballet when he’s a boy, Young Kei tells her that it’s because he wants to dance.

Speaking of Ayako, she asks Kei that he could teach ballet at that school. Kei refuses, saying that he has other things to do and that he doesn’t like amateurs. Ayako tells him that she can negotiate higher fees for him and that a chance like that might never happen again so he should think about her offer until the news from Berlin arrives.

Kei goes to a bookstore and check’s out the “Dance Stage” magazine with Ichinose Yuto (Onuki Yusuke) on the cover. Kei knows Ichinose because the last time he saw the guy in person was when Kei was fired from his dance company and the person to replace him is none other than Ichinose. Thinking about his past makes Kei more depressed that he already is and while passing-by the footbridge, he has this strong urge to jump and end his suffering until he gets a call.

The said caller is none other than Yui, Kei’s knows it even though she won’t talk yet, he asks her about her whereabouts and Yui asks back on how he even knows her. Kei just asks her where she is and the next thing we know, they meet for the second time. Kei asks for her name and Yui says her and asks him if he has confused her for someone else. Kei asks why he would make that mistake and asks Yui to go out with him.

Yui tells him that she didn’t meet him to go out with him but she was just curious and even thought that it was kind of creepy that Kei would just arrive and give his phone number. Kei tells her about the first time that he meets her, on how he was captivated the way she reaches-out her hand in the wind with the setting sun as her backdrop. Kei thought, she looks like a goddess. Kei surely knows how to flatter a woman. After that, Kei waited at the gate because he wanted to ask her out and repeats his question earlier, asking her to go out with him.

Yui says that he doesn’t know what kind of person is he and Kei says that he is a dancer. To prove his identity, Kei shows Yui a mixture of ballet and jazz to capture her heart. After that, Yui wonders if what Kei did is a new type of scam. haha. Is this Ore Ore? She tells him if he’s aiming for her, a government employee with a stable income, if it is, then she has no money. Yui runs away after her “I don’t have money” speech and Kei wonders what’s all the talk about money.

Even though Yui ran away from the dance scene, she keeps on thinking about Kei and his dance. She can’t even concentrate at school and Takayanagi-sensei notices this. However, since he thinks that he still owns Yui’s world, he asks if something happened between the students. Yui says no and he tells her to meet him at the usual place around 6pm when Sora appears. Sora passed-by them and before she can go further, she call Takayanagi-sensei and says, “I think the usual place is fine”. Uh oh.

Takayanagi tells Yui not to worry about it, yeah right, and Yui tells him that she actually has an appointment later. Takayanagi even sounds irritated when he asks about Yui’s appointment, jerk, so Yui has to make-up something about her mother.

At Kei’s place, he’s having a snack with Ayako and she tells him about a musical audition. Ayako sounds excited as she shares that the musical will run for half a year, which means that Kei doesn’t have to do part-time work, and that they’ll be spending half a year dancing together. However, Kei says that he’s not a back dancer and he doesn’t like musicals either. Ayako insists that it doesn’t matter whether he likes it or not since he needs to earn a living but Kei reasons-out that an overseas company might come and recruit so he doesn’t want to be tied down.

At Yui’s place, Kei is still on her mind as she prepares to take a bath and soon, she finds herself getting dressed as she rushes-out of the door.

At Kei’s apartment, he receives a dreadful news: he didn’t pass the Berlin audition. It was his last chance for the season and he failed it. He goes out to contemplate more about his sorry life. Coincidentally, he goes to the place where he and Yui met earlier and Yui arrives looking just as dejected. Kei sees her and in his mind, Yui always appears when life becomes too painful for him to live. Yui sees him too and the two rushes to meet. Yui complains why is he not answering his phone and Kei just grabs her to a tight hug as he tells Yui repeatedly that he likes her. He gives her a quick kiss on her lips.

Yui asks why he likes someone like her because even she doesn’t like her self. Kei tells her that each time he looks at Yui, he feels like he could still carry-on with life then he gives her a longer kiss this time. Well, one kiss lead to another and soon enough, the two are under the sheets doing what you might expect from an adult night melo.

While Kei and Yui make love, Ayako hears them from the outside while Takayanagi acts like a boyfriend appeasing his girlfriend, or a husband appeasing his mistress for that matter.

Comments

This episode killed me and the only thing that got me back from dead is that I have to finished this series. All those hype about Kame being sexy, about the love scenes, and how scandalous this “night melo” is wasn’t just a hype; there’s truth in it and I’m glad that even though I have to hold my breath for every one of Kame’s naked scenes, this drama is worth it. Okay, so I exaggerated a bit when I used “naked”, he wasn’t really MACQUIA naked but just topless. XD

Kame as Kei is just gloomy, he’s so gloomy I can actually see a dark aura hovering around him. He’s at trying times after the very reason of his existence, dancing, was taken from him because he’s not just good enough when he was considered a prodigy. It makes me wonder how much he earns when he was still famous because how come he came back to Japan looking so empty-handed. Other than that, I think the main reason for Kei’s misery is that he got too much pride, like he’s not some back-up dancer and he doesn’t want to teach amateurs. PLS. Fukada as Yui is pretty but I don’t know if it’s botox or so because her face is really not moving, it’s like wax.

On the supporting casts, I can’t picture 3D aka Takayangi on a serious role like having an affair. I mean, I’ve always seen him doing comedy from Gokusen to Legal High and previously at Gomen ne Seishun, and now, he’s suddenly a jerk whose having an affair with someone like Yui. I don’t want to demean Takayanagi but Yui is a Goddess compared to a mere mortal. On the side note, what did Yui see in him to actually allow herself became a mistress? He doesn’t really has the looks or the money. haha. The other side characters are just as interesting like Kei’s childhood friend, Ayako and with Ichinose. I want to see more of them and just see how they will shaped-up Kei and Yui’s love story.

The plot is very adult, two broken adults who found love in a hopeless place. haha. Hopefully, it won’t wreck both of their lives since their relationship for now is very physical. My favorite moment in this episode is not the sex scene but when Kei gave his phone number to Yui, the song at the background is even perfect. As for Kame as a contemporary dancer, he’s not a bad dancer but for someone whose supposed to be a “prodigy”, they should have asked Junno for a double. XD

For first impressions, I’ll definitely watch more of this since it’s been a long time since Kame did a romance drama. Other than that, “Second Love” gives me those feel-good moments you get from watching those 1990’s romance J-dramas.

Usual credits apply.

BTW, as much I’m a huge Kamenashi Kazuya fan, I decided not to recap this since I’m not yet done with Oniichan, Gacha and I really don’t have the time to do it. For those who want to download it, izzyosa is subbing this in English and you can find it on d-addicts. For raw, check-out jdramacity. Pls. follow their RULES.

Rumor Round-Up (Digest 019)

I’ve mentioned this from most of my blog posts but I’m really busy lately so this rumor digest that I find interesting may go a few weeks back. Well, there’s no “big” rumor yet in Johnny’s land so these rumors might still be considered fresh. Involved parties are some of Johnny’s ikemens! They are Junnosuke Taguchi, Kamenashi Kazuya, and Nakajima Yuto.

(c)breederretriever

  • Junno Taguchi and Komine Rena have adopted a dog

From dating to cohabitating, KAT-TUN‘s Junnosuke Taguchi and Komine Rena remained tight-lip on their relationship. Rumor has it that the 8-years couple have decided to get a dog! The said dog is “Border Collie”, an English breed known for their high intelligence. The dog also proves to be costly since the couple decided to get a pet insurance for their pet amounting to 40,000 Yen.

40,000 Yen seems loose change for someone like Junno.  XD

  • Kamenashi Kazuya is also a fan of “Lokai bracelets”?

KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya is known for being one of the Johnny’s seniors that younger Johnny’s love to imitate mostly because of his fashion sense. Well, the juniors have another thing to imitate as Kamenashi follows Hollywood trend with “Lokai bracelet“. The said bracelet is made from elements from the lowest and highest point of earth. Basically, the bracelet gives “balance” to the one wearing it.

If you’re interested, check-out mylokai.com where a portion of each sold bracelets goes to charity. It looks cute  but $18 seems a bit too much just for a bit of mud and water.

  • After a successful supporting role from TV drama, Nakajima Yuto takes big leap for his first movie, “Pink to Gray”

Hey!Say!JUMP‘s Nakajima Yuto played as a salaryman in the drama, “Date~ Koi to wa Donna Mono Kashira~“, as well as Hasegawa Hiroki‘s love rival. The 21 yr old Nakajima was concerned that he might too young for the role but he did well that other’s are commenting on how he’s a respectable actor even though he’s a Johnny. That comment irks me. Anyway, Nakajima is set to star in next year’s movie, “Pink to Gray“, which is written by his agency’s senpai, NEWS‘s Shigeaki Kato. Casting rumors circulated that audition results have been determined long before the main casting was announced. With this rumor still ripe, it’s up to Nakajima to show an enthusiastic performance to blow-away those allegations.

Yuto doesn’t have to “blow” any allegations because it’s  no-brainer that the movie will star a Johnny in a lead role. After all, Shige is the book’s author so it’s only natural that the agency will lend a hand in producing a movie and have the first choice on who gets to be the lead. It may sound unfair but sometimes it’s not just talent that can take you the top but also by being in the right agency.

Kame’s stage comeback since “DREAM BOYS”.

It has been announced that KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya will star in Ninagawa Yukio‘s stage production “Aoi Shushi waTaiyo no Naka ni Aru”. The said stage play is based from a play written by the late Terayama Shuji.

“Aoi Shushi waTaiyo no Naka ni Aru” is set during Japan’s high-growth period of 1960’s and it tells the story of slum inhabitants and their tragic love story. Kamenashi plays Kenji, a factory worker, who witnessed crime concealment and gets involved in a riot.

Kamenashi will soon join his senpais, Higashiyama Noriyuki, Morita Go, Matsumoto Jun among others, who were baptized under strict production of Ninagawa and grew as actors. Kamenashi had gotten Ninagawa’s attention before with the help of Johnny’s Entertainment President, Johnny Kitagawa.

Ninagawa says that while doing a play in Osaka, Kitagawa arrived with Kamenashi and he thinks that he’s an attractive young man whom he wants to work with. Afterward, Kamenashi was seen as the chairperson for performances in Imperial Theater, starred in the movie “Joker Game” and did “Second Love” this year. Kamenashi has saved his power as an actor and Ninagawa said that he’s happy that his premonition (on Kame) has materialized; a flexible body and sensitivity are very attractive. Ninagawa also adds that he looked forward to rehearsals.

Aoi Shushi waTaiyo no Naka ni Aru”  will run from Aug 10th to 30th at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo and on Sept 4th to 13th at ORIX Theater in Osaka.

Other JE who did a play under Ninagawa are Kimura Takuya, Ninomiya Kazunari, Okamoto Kenichi, Okada Junichi, Ikuta Toma, and Ueda Tatsuya.

Rants & Raves : #hashtag

Hi! I didn’t update this blog for almost a week and I feel so sad that I missed to translate a lot of news. Hopefully, I can resume and blog regularly starting this June but for the meantime, I just have to schedule most of my translations.

Anyway, how’s your summer? It’s extremely hot here that even though I gave up on soda, there’s nothing like a chilled soda to refresh me during summer. Speaking of refreshing, here are some trending Rants & Raves : #hashtag

  • Takahata Mitsuki is Kamenashi Kazuya’s heroine for his stage play under Ninagawa Yukio.

I don’t really know her, she looks like that girl from AKB who shaved her hair after a scandal. Well, she might be Kame’s heroine but let’s all comfort ourselves with the mentioned of “tragic love story” in this play’s synopsis. #mean #bitterfan #toolazytolookforthenameof AKBgirl

  • Arashi’s new single, “Aozora noshita, Kimino tonari”, PV was filmed at HOUSE646. After Arashics/Arashians learned about the house’s location, some fans bombard the house with inquiries for a tour and some fans loiter outside of the house even with the absence of the owner. So, the owner issued a really nice apology to fans that a tour is out of the question since the house is a residential property and they want their neighborhood quiet.

Some fans are really scary, like sick. It’s not like they (Arashi) might have left something in the house and touching the house wouldn’t be “feel like” you’ve touched the members in person.  #learnyourboundaries #youreonestepawayfrombeingastalker #sorryforpostingtheaddress

foa.jpg

  • Writer Nojima Shinji praised Yamapi and Masataka Kubota for their respective portrayal in the drama, “Flowers for Algernon”. Nojima said that Yamapi showed “purity” and gives “healing effect” in the drama.

I still haven’t seen this drama, but hearing the comment of the scriptwriter is either he’s genuinely impressed with Yamapi’s acting or he’s just promoting the drama that he wrote. Well, whatever it is, the ratings for the 3rd episode went UP sp Yamapi might be doing something good. #hesobviouslyimpressedwithMasatakaKubota

  • In Goo ranking, people were polled on which celebrity they were surprised to learn that he/she is from Osaka. Two JE made the poll and they are NEWS’s Shigeaki Kato (7) and Nakayama Yuma (9).

Ehhh….I have no idea! Yuma looks so Tokyo-ish, not that I know how determine who is from Tokyo and who is not. haha #whyisShigenotinKanjani8 #sorryIdidntknowthis

  • On another Goo ranking, people were polled on who they want to perform at Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Two JE groups made the list and that’s Arashi (3) and SMAP (7).

I’m sure they would choose a westerner or anyone with solid US career for this. #wellwecouldhope

Okay, that’s all for now! #StayHydrated #Thankyouforreading

Kamenashi Kazuya Aims to Polish his Acting in Stage and Film

Coming this Aug 30th at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya will star in Ninagawa Yukio‘s stage production “Aoi Shushi wa Taiyo no Naka ni Aru”. The said stage play is based from a play written by the late Terayama Shuji and it’s also part of Ninagawa’s anniversary as the director-playwright turns 80 years old.

Speaking of Kamenashi, he has a strong image as a baseball sportscaster as well as doing film and dramas but he has also made his mark from stage plays. Kamenashi gained stage experience in “SHOCK” with KinKi Kids‘s Domoto Koichi as the chair. His stage resume further expanded when he became the chair for “DREAM BOYS” before he passed the baton to Kis-My-Ft2‘s Tamamori Yuta.

In his most recent film exposure, he starred in “Vancouver no Asahi” last year with actor Tsumabuki Satoshi and in “Joker Game” at the beginning of this year. Most recently, he also starred in late night melo drama, “Second Love“.

Aside from doing movies, dramas, being a sportscaster, and his activities as an idol, it’s a wonder if he gets any sleep. Nevertheless, Kamenashi makes it a point to always look presentable. Previously, it was revealed that Kamenashi would always take a shower after stage rehearsals because he wanted to look at his most beautiful.

As for starring in Ninagawa Yukio’s production, Kamenashi and Ninagawa met 10 years ago upon the introduction of Johnny’s Entertainment president, Johnny Kitagawa. Ninagawa is known for his harsh leadership and Kamenashi is prepared to get beaten by him. For Ninagawa, he wants Kamenashi to see his naked self first without completely abandoning the teachings that he learned from Johnny’s. After being under Ninagawa’s directorship, Kamenashi looks forward to the curtain call.

Aoi Shushi wa Taiyo no Naka ni Aru”  will run from Aug 10th to 30th at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo and on Sept 4th to 13th at ORIX Theater in Osaka.

Johnny’s who Seems Smart Ranking

$
0
0

In the tradition of useless and weird ranking in the Japanese entertainment world, here is another ranking based on Johnny’s intelligence. 200 people (100 men and 100 women) in their 20-30 yrs old were surveyed on who among the Johnny’s talents they think has BRAINS.

Leading the pack is pretty obvious, Arashi’s Sakurai Sho, Keio graduate and respected newscaster. The rest of Johnny’s who made the Top 10 ranking, are:

2) Nakai Masahiro (SMAP)

3) Inohara Yoshihiko (V6)

(c)maakun-senpai

4) Okada Junichi (V6)

5) Kimura Takuya (SMAP)

6) Kokubun Taichi (TOKIO)

7) Joshima Shigeru (TOKIO)

8) Matsuoka Masahiro (TOKIO)

9) Ikuta Toma

(c)blowing-journey

10) Murakami Shingo (Kanjani8)

This ranking makes me think that of the saying “wisdom comes with age” because those who made the ranking are already in their 30s-40s. Does this mean that the younger ones aren’t viewed as smart as their senpais? Come to think of, Johnny’s who enter college are fewer than their senpais. Anyway, Inocchi and Kokubun have background in being news moderators so they are viewed as smart and articulate when  they expressed their opinions about different matters during their news programs. Nakai is also viewed as smart because he has chaired different variety shows and he seem always interesting to watch. NEWS’s Koyama Keiichiro, who is also NEWS EVERY’s newscaster, also made this ranking in the 13th place.

Those who aren’t doing into news, Okada is seen smart just by his impressive wit and remarks. Kimura seem smart because of the various TV roles he played, he’s seen as dexterous for being able to portray different roles. People think that Ikuta is smart because of the way he converses, and Matsuoka has an “intelligent face”. Frankly, these seem face value. haha.

Last but not the least, TOKIO’s leader is deem smart because of his different expertise in Astro DASH! and Shingo’s way of talking is considered “witty” by the voters.

Kamenashi Kazuya is Set to Lose 5cm off his Waist for Stage Play

Everyone seems to be losing weight, from A.B.C.-Z’s Hashimoto Ryosuke who now has sunken cheeks to KAT-TUN‘s Kamenashi Kazuya who is set to lost 5cm off his waist for his stage play. Geez, I feel like an obese.

As reported earlier, Kamenashi will star in Ninagawa Yukio‘s production “Aoi Shushi wa Taiyo no Naka ni Aru“. It tells the tragic love story between slum inhabitants during 1960’s Japan. The said play had its public run last Aug 9th with Takahata Mitsuki as Kamenashi’s heroine and music by Matsuoya Masataka.

Ninagawa also attended the play in a wheelchair and supplemental oxygen due to a health issue. He is known for his rigorous acting guidance, but Kamenashi said that even though Ninagawa is strict, there was also affection on his part. Other than affection, Ninagawa wants Kamenashi to lose 5 cm off his waist, which Kamenashi begrudgingly agrees to do so.

Does Kame looks fat in the middle? Oh well, since he’s playing a character from the slums, I guess being ultra skinny is a requirement. Judging from the news clip that I watched, the play looks good, less news about the so-called tragic love story, and Kame is channeling his inner James Dean with his rugged yet polish appeal.

The said stage play ran from Aug 10th to 30th at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo. Even though the Tokyo run have ended, the cast will also be having performances in Osaka.

During the play’s entire run, fellow Johnny’s showed their support for Kamenashi as well his co-workers in NTV’s “Going!” like Ueda Shinya and staff from TBS’s “KAT – TUN no sekaiichi tame ni naru tabi!”. Several actors and actresses who have been under Ninagawa also attended the stage play like Arashi‘s Matsumoto Jun. Other Johnny’s who watched the play, are : NEWS’s Masuda Takahisa, KAT-TUN‘s Nakamaru Yuichi, Ueda Tatsuya, Junno Taguchi, Hey!Say!JUMP‘s Okamoto Kei, ABC-Z‘s Totsuka Shota, Johnny’s WEST‘s Kiriyama Akito, and Johnny’s Jrs. Hasegawa Jun and Miyadate Ryota (Snow Man).

Well, it such a shame that there are no official photos because of Johnny’s number 1 rule. Oh well, congratulations to all the cast and staff of  “Aoi Shushi wa Taiyo no Naka ni Aru“. I wonder is Kame did lose 5 cm off his waist since that seems that headline few weeks ago.
